L'après midi se conclura par une visite du château Couhins, une dégustation et un pot. Un bus sera disponible depuis l'université, campus de Talence, à l’arrêt arts et métiers du tram B (départ à 12 h 45 et retour à 19 h 30, nombre de places limité). Inscription obligatoire.

Biographie de Graciela Schneier-Madanes
Dr. Graciela Schneier-Madanes is an urban planner specializing in water governance and public policy. She graduated as an architect (Universidad de Buenos Aires) and a geographer (Université Paris1 Sorbonne). As Professor Emerita at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique CNRS she maintains formal affiliations with universities in Europe, Latin America and the United States. and serves as an expert for governmental institution and private companies.
Last published book: Schneier-Madanes G.(ed) Globalized Water, a Question of Governance. Dordrecht, Springer, 2014

Water governance: an interdisciplinary perspective
Bridging the gap among social, physical, and natural sciences
In the abundant literature on the topic of water, governance is omnipresent. This fact reflects its decisive importance in contemporary scientific, management and political agendas. To show the complexity of an interdisciplinary perspective, a discussion linking access to water resources and supply and regulatory frameworks is presented. A specific focus will be placed on addressing the question of stakeholders participation through case studies in France, United States and Latin America. Finally, the session presents an open debate on current and future water challenges.
