le lundi 15 février 2016Applicants should have a PhD in marine biogeochemistry and a background in trace elements and/or their isotopes in the ocean. The suitable candidate will show a real motivation for experimental and analytical work. Skills in mass spectrometry (MC-ICPMS and HR-ICPMS) are expected.
Postdoctoral position available in the Toulouse Marine Isotopy group (LEGOS, France)
We invite applications for a 2 to 2.5 year postdoc to study iron isotopes along the GEOTRACES GEOVIDE section (Portugal-Greenland-Labrador, GA01). Filtered seawater and suspended particles have been collected from full depth stations along the section and are available at LEGOS. The successful candidate will analyse these samples and interpret the results in the context of this international and interdisciplinary project (http://www.geovide.obs-vlfr.fr/). The postdoc is further expected to contribute to the research of the group and the institute, advise students, and assist in the management of the labs.
LEGOS (http://www.legos.obs-mip.fr) is part of "Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées" (OMP, http://www.obs-mip.fr/en), which is a large structure (more than 400 faculty members and 300 PhD's and postdoctorates) that offers a very stimulating scientific environment due to the diversity and complementarity of research areas tackled there.
The project will notably benefit from the Toulouse Marine Isotopy clean lab (http://www.legos.obs-mip.fr/recherches/equipes/TIM/toulouse-marine-isotopy-clean-lab) and the OMP ICPMS facility (http://www.legos.obs-mip.fr/recherches/equipes/TIM/icpms).
Applicants should have a PhD in marine biogeochemistry and a background in trace elements and/or their isotopes in the ocean. The suitable candidate will show a real motivation for experimental and analytical work. Skills in mass spectrometry (MC-ICPMS and HR-ICPMS) are expected.
Interested candidates should send their CV, a letter explaining their motivation for the position and indicating the preferred starting date, and the names and email addresses of three referees to:
