Symposium on Oceanography of the Bay of Biscay - Call for abstractsle 14 avril 2016
The XV International Symposium on Oceanography of the Bay of Biscay (ISOBAY 15) will be held in Bilbao, from June 22 to June 24, 2016 and we invite you to participate in the symposium by sending your abstracts (submission deadline: 14 April 2016).
This biennial symposium is aimed to offer researchers undertaking studies on the Bay of Biscay, from open ocean to coastal and estuarine zones, the opportunity to present and discuss their most updated works. One of the strengths of the ISOBAY symposia is their multidisciplinary nature, covering topics from physical oceanography and geology to biogeochemistry, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, thus making an important contribution to an integrated knowledge of the Bay of Biscay.
The main theme of this 15th edition will be Changing Ecosystems: Natural versus Anthropogenic effects. Many marine systems are currently undergoing importan changes and disentangling the natural and anthropogenic forcing on them is perhaps one of the biggest challenges of this century.
ISOBAY 15 can be an excellent occasion to meet and network with many other researchers interested in the study of the Bay of Biscay, both for early career scientists as well as for established researchers. It can be a good opportunity also to visit Bilbao, a city which has undergone an internationally recognized urban transformation, becoming a modern and pleasant city with a wide cultural and gastronomical offer.
